Joliet Man at Party Where Plainfield Man was Shot Arrested for Armed Robbery
Police don't believe he played a role in the shooting.

A 21-year-old Joliet man has been charged with two counts of armed robbery in connection with an incident at the same party that ended in the fatal shooting of a Plainfield man, according to a release from the Aurora Police Department.
Marcus L. Hall, of the 1300 block of Fuller Avenue in Joliet, allegedly held up at gunpoint two 20-year-old men from Normal, Illinois who were attending the party at about 12:35 a.m., Sept. 5. Police said they are not releasing a mugshot of Hall due to the ongoing investigation.

The robbery occurred outside of the rental hall where the party was being held in the 600 block of North Lake Street. Around $3,300 in jewelry, cash and other items were allegedly taken from the men. They were not injured.
Hall was reportedly one of several men who showed up at the party and proceeded to cause trouble for the attendees. Shortly after the robbery, a disturbance occurred inside the hall which caused the attendees to run out of the building toward Illinois Avenue and across Lake Street. A fight then ensued on the east side of Lake and at least one shot was fired which struck Derrick Page, 23, of Plainfield, in the head. Page died the next day as a result of the gunshot wound.

Hall was taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop about 10 minutes after the shooting in the area of River Street and West Park Avenue. At this time, police do not believe he played a role in the homicide.
The charges lodged on Hall are both class-X felonies which call for enhanced penalties upon conviction. He is currently being held in the Kane County Correctional Center in St. Charles.
