Lake Strini Path Under Construction Starting Thursday
The path is going to be removed and replaced as part of ongoing redevelopment of the lake.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — The path around Lake Strini will be under construction until further notice starting Thursday, the Village said on Facebook. Work is being done to remove and replace the path around the lake.
According to the Village website, in 2020, Romeoville was awarded a $382,800 in matching funds grant for renovations to Lake Strini. After work is finished, the lake will include native vegetation, a boardwalk extending across the lake, a butterfly garden, a rain garden, multiple stone outcropping fishing stations, sunning steps, decks, a bike repair station, fitness stations and two baggo games.
Redevelopment construction began earlier this year, and is expected to be finished in late fall. The lake is located at Conservation Park, near Belmont and Beverly J. Griffin drives.
