Lewis Revises Attendance Policy For Athletic Events

The policy and its guidelines will be re-evaluated by the university administration over the next few weeks, according to the university.

ROMEOVILLE, IL – The Lewis University Athletic Department, in conjunction with Lewis University administration, has announced temporary revisions to its attendance policy for athletic events on campus during January as part of its ongoing efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, according to the university.

The updated policy went into effect Tuesday, beginning with the men's volleyball match against Maryville.

Lewis will allow only pre-approved home spectators for competitions held in Neil Carey Arena, according to the university. Coaches and student-athletes from the hosting teams are permitted to select two guests to attend each event. Student-athletes on home and visiting teams who are not in uniform for their competition are also permitted to attend.

At this time, no visiting team will be permitted inside Neil Carey Arena for Lewis Flyer athletic events, according to the university website. In addition, no Lewis University students will be allowed to attend home events due to university density restrictions.
