Lewis University Adopts New Emergency Alert System
Lewis University is now utilizing Rave Mobile Safety to distribute emergency messages to its community.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — As part of Lewis University’s ongoing commitment to campus safety, the Lewis University Campus Emergency Planning Team recently upgraded the university's emergency notification system, according to a release from the school.
Lewis University is now utilizing Rave Mobile Safety to distribute emergency messages to its community. The university said the new service provides additional methods of notification beyond the previous calls, text messages and emails.
Lewis University now has multiple channels of student, faculty, and staff mass notifications, including texts, calls, digital signage, and emails. Lewis University PC computers on campus may receive desktop notifications, the university said.

Visitors or anyone interested in receiving these emergency notifications can opt in to receive Lewis University emergency alerts by texting “Lewisu411” to 226787 (CAMPUS). A person can unsubscribe from the text alerts at any time by texting “STOP” to 226787.
After the start of the Fall Semester, the RAVE Guardian App will be available to Lewis University students, faculty, and staff, according to the university. The app also allows on-campus users to call for help with the push of a button and instantly share their Guardian profile and current location with Lewis University Police Department. It also allows on-campus users to send anonymous tips to LUPD.
