Lewis University Art Invitational Showcases High School Artists

The ninth annual invitational was held last month at Lewis.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Over 60 art pieces were on display Jan. 15-22 at the 9th Annual High School Art Invitational hosted by the Lewis University Department of Art and Design and The Brent and Jean Wadsworth Family Gallery, the University shared in a news release.

The exhibition featured works from local high school students including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital work, and mixed media, the university said.

  • Best in Show: Vanessa Vallejo, Romeoville High School - “Untitled”
  • First Place: Morgan Long, Plainfield North High School - “A Stage of Borrowed Light”
  • Second Place: Amanda Ross, Plainfield South High School - “Baby Kiln”
  • Third Place: Kaia Perkins, Niles West High School - “Spirit Animal Skate Deck”
