Lewis University Recognized In Nationwide Rankings

U.S News & World Report, The Princeton Review, Washington Monthly and Forbes included Lewis in their various rankings.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Lewis University in Romeoville has recently been recognized by several organizations in nationwide rankings of colleges and universities.

The university said U.S. News & World Report included Lewis on several of its rankings, including: No. 19 for regional universities Midwest; No. 9 for best colleges for veterans, regional universities Midwest; No. 20 for undergraduate teaching, regional universities Midwest; No. 19 for social mobility, regional universities Midwest; No. 28 for best values, regionals universities, Midwest; and as an A+ school for B students.

The university's undergraduate computer science program, engineering program, and nursing program were also recognized by U.S. News and World Report, according to a news release.

“The Top 20 overall ranking in the Midwest as well as the multiple other lists including Lewis University, reflects our leadership as a Catholic university in our region. Our future-focused and innovative academic programs produce graduates who adapt and thrive with the ever-changing demands of work and career while also contributing to a better world for all,” Dr. David Livingston, Lewis University president, said in a release.

Lewis was also included in Princeton Review's 158 "Best Midwestern" section of its 2022 Best Colleges: Region by Region, according to the school. Selections are based on six categories – academics, admissions selectivity, financial aid, fire safety, quality of life and green.

"We chose Lewis University and the other outstanding institutions on this list primarily for their excellent academics," Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's Editor-in-Chief, said in a release.

Washington Monthly also ranked Lewis University as the second-best private university in Illinois, the university said in a release.

Lastly, Forbes’ Top Colleges List included Lewis University as being in the top 15 percent of all degree-granting postsecondary institutions in the U.S., the school said in a release. Lewis University made Forbes’ lists for Top Colleges 2021, In Private Colleges and In the Midwest.
