Liquor Compliance Checks Net Romeoville Arrests
A Romeoville liquor store was caught in the sweep, and two Romeoville residents were arrested.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A Romeoville liquor store and two Romeoville residents were caught up in a liquor compliance sweep conducted by the Illinois State Police. On Sept. 20, police conducted alcohol countermeasure enforcement (ACE) surveillance at 24 locations in Lockport, Romeoville and Plainfield.
ACE surveillance is aimed at determining which businesses may be selling alcohol to customers under age 21.
Three of the 24 businesses were caught selling liquor to minors, according to state police: Falcon Food and Liquor and State Street Pantry, both in Lockport, and Romeoville's CD Liquors, 322 N. Independence Blvd.

Falcon Food and Liquor employee Rahul Shailwshkumar Patel, 24, of Romeoville; State Street Pantry employee Glennese E. Matlock, 22, of Lockport; and CD Liquors employee Rafael Parra-Gutierrez, 47, of Romeoville, were arrested on charges of unlawful delivery of alcoholic liquor to a minor, according to state police.
All three were released on notice to appear in court.

The ACE surveillance is funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety
