Lockport Street Project Begins Monday, Detours In Place

Anyone who uses Airport Road to travel into Plainfield will need to reroute.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Those who use Airport Road to travel from Romeoville to Plainfield will have to follow detours as construction begins on Lockport Street in Plainfield, according to a notification from the Village.

Starting Monday, a water main and storm sewer project will begin on Lockport Street in Plainfield. Due to construction, anyone who uses Airport Road to go into Plainfield will need to follow the detour of Renwick Road, Route 30 or Route 59 instead.

Local traffic, including emergency response vehicles, will be allowed through the work zone on Lockport Street and flagged around construction operations as necessary, according to a news release.

The detour will be in place for two months, according to the Village.
