Mayor Deems Costume Ball a Success
Funding raised at the Nov. 5 event will benefit the efforts of the village's Youth Outreach Commission.

The final tally isn't in yet, but Mayor John Noak is calling his inaugural a success, saying he estimates the Nov. 5 event will generate several thousand dollars for the village’s Youth Outreach Commission.
“I think we’re going to bring in probably $2,000 or $3,000,” he said of the event, which took place at the . Guests turned out in costume to enjoy food and drinks, donated by area businesses, plus a DJ and a contest for the scariest, funniest, most original and best overall costumes.
“I think it’s a good start,” said Noak, adding the event was created as a way to raise money for the youth commission while bringing the community together. “It’s something we can build on for the future.

“ … It creates a greater sense of community in a creative way, and I think everyone had a great time. I think we’ll have even more people out next year.”
The money raised will be donated to the Youth Outreach Commission to help fund youth sports, activities and more.

“We’re leaving it up to the youth commission to figure out where the money will be maximized,” Noak said.
