Mayor Presents Romeoville High School with Recognition Award

During his annual State of the Village address Thursday afternoon, Romeoville Mayor John Noak gave special recognition to Romeoville High School for “being such great partners with us.”

Noak praised RHS for some of its recent awards and academic accomplishments including a high ranking among the nation’s high schools by U.S. News & World Report and an even higher ranking among Will County schools by Chicago Magazine

“But it goes beyond schooling,” Noak said. “The students, the staff, their involvement in our community…it goes to the commitment of the students, faculty, administration to make that happen.”

“It’s wonderful to see so many familiar faces that we partner with throughout not only this year but also in past years building those relationships collaboratively to support our students,” RHS Principal Derek Kinder said as he thanked Mayor Noak for the award. “A heartfelt thank you to all of you who work with us to make our kids so successful in our school system. We appreciate your contribution, your collaboration, your partnership with us moving forward. We will continue to make Romeoville proud.”

The Romeoville Mayor also applauded Valley View School District 365U in general calling plans to use solar energy to operate schools “innovative” and the 2017-18 expansion of the district’s pre-school program “so key to the future of our community.”

“You talk about a partnership,” Noak said. “Dr. James Mitchem, the administration, the staff and the school board members are such great partners with us.”
