Irene Kind School holds a McTeacher's Night Fundraiser at the NEW Romeoville McDonald's
On Tuesday, October 13th, while the Chicago Cubs were winning game three and heading to the National League Finals, Irene King School held an extremely successful McTeacher’s Night at the NEW McDonald’s in Romeoville on Independence Blvd., that just opened their doors on September 30th. The new McDonald’s was full of families supporting the school and waiting to see the Chicago Bulls IncrediBulls and a special performance by Irene King music students led by music teachers David Rice and Marcia Garza.Teachers literally took over the restaurant serving up delicious meals to students and families to raise money for the school. The McTeacher jobs included; drive-thru teachers, greeters, teachers cleaning the lobby, front counter teachers, drink teachers, teachers clearing tables, teachers selling pies, teachers in a pie costume, and teachers serving ice cream. There were even teachers singing for tips. McTeachers working included the following: Schneider, Zubek, Phillippides, Vacik, Chow, Russ, Allen, Robertson, Bauma, Bird, Rowley, Zack, Wohlberg, Perez, Rice, Felix, and Edom. Irene King McTeachers had it all covered, and the families all had a great time. The School plans to use the money raised to go into the fund to support future programming. Lots of students, teachers, families and friends came out to support the school. The Irene King Student Council were all present and a huge help at the event. All the kids came to see their teachers work at the NEW Romeoville McDonald’s. McTeacher Robertson wore the PIE costume almost the whole night and worked very hard. A special appearance by the Chicago Bulls IncrediBulls and Irene King music students made this a very memorable evening. Special thank you goes to Irene King Principal, April Vacik, who organized the entire event. It was a great night!
