Medical Pot Dispensary Gets OK at Romeoville Board Meeting
The dispensary will not be open to the public and only patients or registered caregivers can enter.

The Romeoville Village Board of Trustees approved a special use permit for a medical marijuana dispensary at its Wednesday night meeting.
According to a report from My Suburban Life, the permit gives Midwest Compassion Center permission to open a dispensary at 1335 Lakeside Drive.
Marijuana will not be grown there and the building will not be open to the general public.

According to MCC representative Nicole Jansen van Rensburg, only patients or registered caregivers can come in.
Approved patients will come into the dispensary and show identification to a guard. Then they would enter through “the manhole” and proceed to the waiting area before being guided into a showroom. The patient would complete an order then leave.

The business will have a variety of security systems in place, including motion detectors, locks, an alarm system and smoke screens.
A resolution to tax sales at the dispensary was tabled.
