Motorcyclists Hit by Car After Driver Blows Through Stop Sign: Cops
The two men received serious injuries, with one being airlifted to Silver Cross Hospital.

A Romeoville man has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence causing bodily harm after he allegedly blew through a stop sign and hit two men on motorcycles.
At around 8:07 p.m. Sunday, April 17, Norberto Munoz-Rueda, 55, of the 200 block of Hemlock Ave. in Romeoville, was driving a 2013 Chevy Cruz northbound on Cedar Road at US Route 52 in Manhattan when he went through a stop sign and struck two motorcyclists who were traveling southbound on US Route 52 at Cedar Road, according to Illinois State Police Sergeant Scott Angus.

“Witnesses state (Munoz-Rueda) went through the stop sign without stopping (and) crossed over the median on Cedar Road. Witnesses stated that they heard the rumble strips and the car approaching them head on,” Angus said.
Munoz-Rueda then struck the front ends of two motorcyclists, who were traveling in a pack of other riders.

The men, a 20-year-old Lemont man and a 23-year-old Homer Glen man, both received serious injuries and were taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. One of the men was later airlifted to Advocate Good Samaritan in Downers Grove.
Munoz-Rueda declined medical treatment at the scene. He was also charged with failure to possess valid insurance.
