New Principal for Valley View's S.T.E. Program

An experienced educator who has been with Valley View School District 365U for more than a decade has been named Principal of VVSD’s Secondary Transition Experience Program (S.T.E.P.).

VVSD Student Services Administrator Andrea Ellexson succeeds Kristin Marks who left the school district for another position.
Ellexson joined the Valley View team in 2005 as a special education teacher, spending seven years with S.T.E.P and the Valley View Early Childhood Center. She became Student Resource Team Leader at Romeoville High School in 2012 before moving into her current position for the 2013-14 school year.

A graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Special Education and an Early Childhood Special Education endorsement, she holds a Master’s Degree in School Improvement and Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University.
While with VVSD, she served as Extended School Year Principal for two years, Parent Network Night facilitator for three years, and Bolingbrook High School varsity badminton coach for five years. While at S.T.E.P. earlier in her career, she was Building Induction Coordinator, Transportation Coordinator and a mentor for first year teachers.
