D’Onis Dwayne Ervins

D’Onis Dwayne Ervins, lovingly remembered as “Bamm Bamm”, was born on July 7, 2000, along with his twin sister, D’Anice. He sadly departed this life on July 7, 2025. His time with us, though far too short, was filled with love and laughter.

D’Onis was a vibrant soul with a heart that felt everything deeply. He had a brilliant mind and a quiet curiosity that led him to spend hours watching documentaries and learning about the world. His love for music was limitless—he appreciated every genre and found comfort and connection in the melodies and lyrics he heard.

D’Onis was a graduate of Joliet West High School and was currently employed at Belle Tire in Joliet, IL. He had a true gift when it came to cars. Whether he was fixing one up, talking shop, or just riding around, cars were one of his greatest passions. He also had an eye for fashion—always stepping out in a fresh fit, always putting thought into how he carried himself. Looking good made him feel good, and that showed.

But more than anything, he loved his family. He was the kind of person who would light up the room with his jokes, offer a helping hand even when he was struggling, and show up in the ways he knew how. His love was real. So was his pain.

D’Onis faced some silent battles that he carried with him daily. Despite his strength and the love that surrounded him, those struggles became overwhelming. On July 7, 2025, he made the heartbreaking decision to leave this world. It’s a loss that has left our hearts shattered, but we choose to remember him in his fullness—not defined by his pain, but by his light.

D’Onis is survived by his mother, Shandra Jourdan; his father, David “Wayne” Ervins; his maternal grandmother, Harriet Jourdan; his loving girlfriend, Nasha Bailey; his sisters, Ashanté Travis, Esq., D’Anice Ervins, Jazmyne Gill, Jaleesa Holloman, Jemika Ervins, Daviona Ervins, Davinesha Ervins, and Chanel Griffin; his brothers, Rambo Ervins and Daquon Ervins; his special niece, Amiyah Ervins; his best friends, Justin Adams (the triplet) and Russell Stevenson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish the time they had with him.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Beverly Bridges; his paternal grandmother, Delphine Ervins; his brother, Sjontre Thompson; his special cousin, Aaron Bowers; and his mother-in-law, Tebrysa Stepney.

We will never stop loving him. We will never stop saying his name. May he finally have the peace he was searching for.
