Open House on Metra Station, East Side Set for Dec. 15
Residents invited to learn about projects, take part in public hearing on proposed improvements.

In just a few years, commuting could get easier for Romeoville residents, with a Metra station slated to be built just south of the CITGO Refinery on 135th Street.
Though the project is still in the planning stages, residents are invited to view exhibits, learn more about proposed improvements and offer feedback at an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at , 1050 W. Romeo Rd.
During the open house, representatives for Robinson Engineering will present the phase 1 environmental impact statement.

Attendeeds will have a chance to provide input during a public hearing on proposed improvement plans for the Metra station and commuter parking lot to be built southwest of 135th Street and New Avenue.
Written comments may be submitted during the open house or mailed to the following address no later than Dec. 29:

East Side proposals unveiled
Meanwhile, staffers from lead project consultant Teska & Associates will present two concept plans on the future redevelopment of the East Side near the commuter station. Residents will be invited to share their thoughts on the proposals.
