Phil was a graduate of Joliet West High School in 1986, where he was involved in track and wrestling. As a child, he loved dirt biking, motorcycles, and taking things apart just to put them back together again. He also enjoyed spending his summers in the country with his grandparents, with numerous stories of finding critters in the woods and exploring God’s creation. He went on to earn his Associate’s Degree from Joliet Junior College in 1989. Going straight into being a master mechanic at Village Ford for 18 years to then finding his career and dearly loved friends as an Elevator Mechanic with Otis Elevator. He was a proud working member of Union Local 2 in Chicago for 20 years as of this year. In 2016, he founded C.R.M. Mosquito Defense, a company he built with pride and passion for his children and community. His dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to helping others remained evident throughout his life and career.
Outside of his work, Phil embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. Most of all, he loved his family and did everything to put them first. Always prioritizing time spent together, whether it was going on hikes, fixing something, or simply just sitting on the couch talking and enjoying each other's company. He enjoyed riding his Harley with his son and finding freedom on the open road. Known for his fashionably late arrivals, the party never truly started until he got there. Between his dad jokes and endless collection of catchphrases, he had a gift for making people laugh. He also had a deep passion for astronomy, the mysteries beyond our world, and coin collecting, a hobby he proudly shared with his children. Phil’s friendly, funny, and loving nature drew people to him; he truly was a friend to everyone. Known for always putting others’ needs before his own, he was quick to help anyone in need and was cherished by all who knew him.
