Police Department to Participate in Pinwheels for Prevention

Romeoville Police Department will once again raise money for the cause through Pinwheels for Prevention.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Romeoville Police Department will once again raise money for the cause through Pinwheels for Prevention. Last year, the department raised $1,314 and donated the sum to the Guardian Angel Foundation in support of their efforts to prevent child abuse.

“Every child deserves a safe environment to grow up in that is free from abuse,” said Mayor John Noak. “Pinwheels for Prevention is a fantastic program that draws attention to the issue of child abuse and raises money to combat it. We’re proud to participate again in 2018.” At this week’s Village Board meeting, the mayor proclaimed April to be Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Residents who would like to donate can do so at the Romeoville Police station. In return, they will receive a pinwheel and are encouraged to add it to the collection in front of the station.
