The Joliet Police Department is investigating the incident.
JOLIET, IL — A racial slur and swastikas were found spray-painted in a Joliet neighborhood park Tuesday afternoon in the area of Indian Head Lane and Old Renwick Trail.
Police received a call for the incident at around 3:28 p.m. and responding officers found graffiti on various items in the park.
Inside a tunnel slide was the word “bitch” with a smiley face, according to Joliet Police Deputy Chief Ed Gregory. Also inside the tunnel were the words “f--k you.”

The vandals then wrote “poo” in yellow spray paint on a picnic table inside the park’s gazebo. On a dock near the pond were swastikas in yellow and white spray paint. The letters D-B-D were also written.
“I don’t know what that stands for,” Gregory said.
