Recycle Event Huge Success

Romeoville, IL- On Saturday June 22nd, Abri Credit Union hosted a Shred & Recycle event at their Joliet branch.  The event was very busy and had a constant flow of cars that pulled in to shred personal documents and recycle old electronics.

WCCQ morning show host Carol McGowan was there greeting the community and giving away great prizes.  Iron Mountain brought their largest shred truck and helped attendees unload nearly 75,000 pounds of paper to be shred.

Additionally, Vintage Tech Recyclers collected 4,670 pounds of electronics to be broken down and recycled.  In the two hour event they collected a combination of computer monitors (1458 pounds), printers (496 pounds), televisions (2095 pounds) and miscellaneous items (621 pounds).   All received material is redistributed, donated, dismantled or recycled complying with all Federal, State, and local environmental laws.
