Retail Theft, Graffiti, Bicycle Thief: Romeoville Blotter
Incidents and arrests occurred between Aug. 20 and Aug. 30.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Aug. 20
Colton Kowalczyk, 19, of the 17000 block of S. Heathercreek Dr. in Plainfield, was charged with retail theft. The arrest occurred in the 400 block of South Weber Road.

Tracy Kujath, 19, of Nebraska, was charged with retail theft. The arrest occurred in the 400 block of South Weber Road.
Aug. 22

Robert Welch, 29, of the 500 block of Laurel Ave., was charged with a protection order violation and resisting an officer. The arrest occurred in the 500 block of Laurel.
Someone apparently in desperate need of storage cabinets, truck mirrors, a battery and a leaf blower hit the jackpot, as all those items were found, and then stolen, from a vehicle in the 200 block of East Romeo Road. The window of two vehicles were also damaged. Total cost of theft and items damaged is $5,750.
Aug. 23
A thief in need of a bicycle found the perfect opportunity to obtain one when he/she entered a garage and stole a bike valued at $100.
Aug. 24
Jeffrey Frederick, 23, of the 300 block of Emery in Romeoville, was charged with failure to give information after striking a vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance, improper lane usage and failure to report an accident to police.
Two 17-year-old juveniles were charged with retail theft in the 400 block of South Weber Road.
A house apparently made someone very upset. To deal with their frustration, a person threw a rock at it. Cost of damage was $100.
Aug. 25
A wannabe-Banksy spray painted graffiti in the 700 block of South Weber. It is unknown if the graffiti had any artistic merit.
Aug. 26
Jorge Vega-Ortiz, 31, of the 0-100 block of S. Cagwin in Joliet, was charged with reckless driving and battery. The arrest occurred in the 1000 block of Crossroads Parkway.
Matthew Thompson, 33, of Olney, was charged with driving while license suspended, improper lane usage and no insurance. The arrest occurred in the area of Normantown and Weber Road.
Saroj Singla, 70, of the 400 block of Sierra Ct. in Naperville, was charged with retail theft. The arrest occurred in the 1300 block of Aurora Avenue.
Shaun Vaughn, 38, of the 200 block of Hemlock Ave., was picked up on an in-state warrant. The arrest occurred in the 300 block of North Independence.
Aug. 29
Jaileen Villagran, 18, of the 6400 block of Breckenridge Dr. in Plainfield, was charged with retail theft. The arrest occurred in the 200 block of South Weber Road.
Aug. 30
An apparent energy drink lover stole several cases of the stuff, valued at $561.90, from a business in the 400 block of South Weber Road.
