RHS Bowlers Take Fifth at State

With a total of 12,303 pins, the team had a strong finish at IHSA championship.

Corey McReady's 220 average over 12 games paced the bowlers to a fifth place finish in the Illinois High School Association state championships in downstate O'Fallon over the weekend.

McReady rolled series of 617 and 638 in the final two rounds to finish 11th in the state, less than 100 pins behind state champ Joey Kopera of Sandburg High School. Teammate Dakota Vostry knocked down 2,503 pins in the final two rounds, Will Thompson rolled a six-game series of 2,414 and Brandon Lisak-Talley turned in a 2,349. Jacob Young bowled one series with a 620 an Jacob Young registered a 585 series.

Romeoville High School's total of 12,303 pins (an average of 205.1 per bowler) left them 518 pins behind state champ Andrew High School. Vernon Hills was second, Honenegh of Rockford third and O'Fallon fourth.
