RHS, Heath Care Company Team Up For School-Based Clinic

Romeoville High School and VNA Health Care will provide students with access to health care services on campus.

ROMEOVILLE, IL —Romeoville High School and VNA Health are announcing a partnership that will provide access for Romeoville High School students to receive health care services at the VNA Health Care location at 160 N. Independence Blvd. in Romeoville.

Parents of Romeoville High School students who sign a consent form will allow their child to visit VNA for health care services beyond what can be provided by a school nurse, such as physicals and immunizations.

“The signed parental consent form will allow a Romeoville High School student to conveniently access certain health care services,” said Mrs. Susan Gregory, coordinator of health services for Valley View District 365U. “The proximity of Romeoville High School and the VNA Health Care location in Romeoville provides students with the opportunity to access certain services without needing to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.”

The partnership between Romeoville High School and VNA aligns with Goal 4 of the VVSD Strategic Plan which is to “advance partnerships with families and the community to achieve our mission and vision.” More specifically, this partnership supports Strategy 7 of the Strategic Plan to engage businesses and organizations as partners in education to improve learning opportunities for students.

“The partnership between Romeoville High School and VNA allows services for students in need of more complex care, such as treatment for illnesses and injuries,” said Eileen Magill, School-Based Health Center Clinical Coordinator at VNA. “Studies have shown that students who use a school-based health center for medical care have significantly increased attendance compared to students who don’t use them.”
