Georgia Wilson Day

For the first time, the fest will pay tribute to longtime employee and first director of the Tri-County Special Recreation Association Georgia Wilson.

In honor of Wilson, who passed away in 2005 and is the namesake of the Georgia Wilson Community Service Center, adults and children with special needs can ride all carnival rides for free from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 9, at the fest.

To take party in Georgia Wilson day, register at the Romeoville Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Rd., or Tri County SRA, 10 Montrose Dr., by Wednesday, Aug. 6.

No additional ride tickets will be sold during the 10 a.m. to noon time slot on Saturday, and only those who are pre-registered will be admitted into the carnival. Wrist bands will be issued to each participant.

For more information, email contact Superintendent of Recreation Brian Houzenga at 815-407-1819, ext. 202.
