The global pandemic has adversely affected local businesses and RACC is working to help "businesses stay in touch with their customers," Criddle said.

The Chamber offers different marketing services as well as virtual training for businesses looking to broaden their social reach. RACC staff also held several Zoom calls to both teach Zoom as a tool for communication and to use virtual communication as a training platform to review other important topics with the members.

The RACC is also looking at creative ways to continue to engage the community. It is working with businesses to increase offerings and exposure of their services to the community.

"We keep our pulse on the customers and give feedback to the businesses on what we are hearing, in order to help them succeed," he said.

The grant from the Village of Romeoville will be used to offset costs to RACC members and community.

"We know that businesses are focusing everything on staying afloat. We are working with everyone to ensure that we can help businesses as they slowly and safely open back up to the community," Criddle said.

He added: "We want to encourage residents to shop local, especially to shop your local small business. Small businesses are an important part of the community and buying an extra item or service from them will go a long way to making sure they are here when things open back up."
