Romeoville Art Society Exhibit Hosted At Isle A La Cache

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Artwork produced by members of the Romeoville Art Society will be showcases at Isle a la Cache in July, according to a release from the Forest Preserve District of Will County.

An exhibit called “Art a la Cache – Art in Nature” will be on display at Isle a la Cache from July 1-31 during museum hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. The building is closed Mondays, the preserve said.

19 artists have produced multiple pieces for the exhibit.

The art society’s traveling Miniature Art Gallery also will be part of "Art a la Cache"; the miniature gallery is a fun, interactive display case that encourages artists and makers of all ages to create, share and trade art, according to the release.

The Forest Preserve’s collaboration with the Romeoville Art Society began last year when the group asked if Isle a la Cache could be a host site for the “Art in Your Yard” event, Tina Riley, facility supervisor at the museum, said in a release.

“It opened up a line of communication with them,” she said of the 2021 event. “They have many artist members and were eager to hold an art show at the museum. Isle a la Cache has the space and infrastructure to host a show. And we know our visitors will enjoy seeing the art, and we hope to meet some new visitors as a result of this partnership.”

In addition to the art show, Isle a la Cache also is featuring a "Diversity of Life Interpretive Trail Exhibit" through Oct. 2. The exhibit is open during preserve hours, 8 a.m. to sunset, seven days a week.
