Romeoville Restaurant Closes Doors

A Weber Road fixture since 2005, a local eatery has closed for good.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A Romeoville business has closed its doors for good. As of Thursday afternoon, a sign in the window at Mr. Taco, 413 N. Weber Road, stated that the business was "permanently closed." The vacant storefront now joins that of the old Dominick's grocery store — left empty thanks to a lease owned by Jewel-Osco — in the shopping center along Weber Road.

According to the Mr. Taco website, the restaurant was opened in 2005 by two friends who recently moved to Romeoville. A Franklin Park location opened in 2009, but according to Yelp!, that restaurant is also closed.

"With the economy winding down, they decided to explore options to provide affordable meals with great food quality," the website said of the inspiration for the Mexican restaurant, which also offered delivery service. "That’s how the story of Mr. Taco Authentic Mexican Food No Bull began. With pride and with a touch of love our experienced chef Mr. Fidel Nieto provides the ultimate flavors so our customers can experience the true authentic taste of our Mexican cuisine with a vision towards the future."
