Romeoville Business Owner Gives Donation To Enhance VVSD STEM Programs

The district said Romeoville High School will use the money to help supplement the school's STEM program and activities.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — For 11 years, Romeoville Mobil owner and president Mohammed Qurashi has donated $500 to science, technology, engineering and math programs in Valley View Community Unit School District 365U on behalf of the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program, according to a release from the district.

Qurashi is the owner and president of the Romeoville Mobil station, located at 135th Street and Route 53. The district said Romeoville High School will use the money to help supplement the school’s STEM program and activities.

Romeoville HS Principal Derek Kinder accepted the donation on behalf of RHS saying, “We greatly
appreciate Mohammed Qurashi’s continuous commitment to our schools and our community. He makes it a point every year to secure this grant for a VVSD school. This year’s grant will help RHS further supplement the STEM offerings we provide for our students.”

The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program provides STEM funds to schools all over the country. Since the inception of this national program, ExxonMobil has committed over $34 million to supporting STEM programs in schools, according to the district.
