Romeoville Chamber Honors High School for Volunteer Leadership
Chamber Executive Director Michelle Jarnutowski praised the RHS leadership team for the partnerships that have developed.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Romeoville High School received the 2016 Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce Volunteer Leadership Award Tuesday at the Chamber’s annual awards luncheon.
Chamber Executive Director Michelle Jarnutowski praised the RHS leadership team for the partnerships that have developed between the community and the school’s staff and students.
“They are dedicated individuals who love their roles and make a commitment beyond their day-to-day jobs. Many of these individuals take the time to sit on our Chamber Education Committee, they volunteer for events as well as numerous other community activities,” Jarnutowski said. ”They are committed to offering students and businesses mutually beneficial learning experiences for success and growth.”

“The thank you goes to all of you in the community who allow our kids and our staff the opportunity to partner with you,” said RHS Principal Derek Kinder who accepted the award. “We truly believe that our school is only as strong as the community we serve. Partnering with you really makes that happen.
“We look forward to continuing our partnership with all of the different opportunities you’re able to provide for our students, and our students are able to provide for you,” he added.

Among others honored at Tuesday’s luncheon: Medium Business of the Year-- Valley View Dental, headed by RHS Class of 1987 graduate Dr. Paul Singh; Not-for-Profit of the Year—Rotary Club of Romeoville, including members Derek Kinder and Krista Simpson from Romeoville High School; VVSD community partners Citgo (Large Business of the Year) and Culver’s Ron Dalrymple (Lifetime Achievement Award); and Small Business of the Year—Fear No More.
