The Romeoville Christian Lady Kingsmen rolled to a 2-0 start on Tuesday night after defeating the Minutemen of Marquette Manor 45 to 17. After a slow first quarter the Kingsmen opened up a large lead behind 18 points from Angelina Byers and 16 from Jessie Perez. Junior Erica Ware pulled down 10 rebounds making this her second consecutive game with ten or more. The Kingsmen were able to open such a wide gap by pressuring the ball and forcing turnovers. Freshmen Nicole Peterson and Jessie Perez had 6 and 9 steals respectively. The Lady Kingsmen will play again Saturday, November 23 in the FOFCA Tip-Off Tournament in Channahon, IL.

Varsity Boys
The Kingsmen traveled to nearby Downers Grove to play conference opponent Marquette Manor. The Minutemen of Marquette came into the game tonight with a 1-0 record while the Kingsmen were looking for first win of the season. After a hot start by the Minutemen the Kingsmen struggled to get anything going. After falling behind by 11 at the half the Kingsmen didn't come alive until the 4th quarter by outscoring the Minutemen 20-9, however that was not enough to win the game. The Kingsmen dropped their 3rd straight on the road by a score of 50-46. The Kingsmen continue to struggle controlling the rebounds in this season. Jake Janson and Robby Janson lead the Kingsmen with 22 and 14 respectively. The Kingsmen have their home opener on Friday at 6:30.
