Romeoville HS eSports Team Heads To First-Ever IHSA State Finals

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Romeoville High School eSports team has qualified for the first-ever IHSA eSports state finals, which will be held on Saturday at Evergreen Park High School.

The first state finals includes video games like Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros and Rocket League.

According to the District, the Romeoville team qualified by placing second in Mario Kart at the Plainfield East sectional.

The Romeoville team is coached by Stephanie Brunetti and assistant coach Neil Hummer. According to IHSA, team members include seniors Michael Bestwina, Deborah Macias, Patrick Rozalowski, Jacob Scholes and Ethan Strader.
