Romeoville HS MCJROTC Honored By Valley View Board

Romeoville High School's MCJROTC program is a distinguished unit for the second year in a row.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville High School Marine Corps JROTC was recently recognized by the Valley View School District Board of Education for the group's success during last school year.

Master Gunnery Sergeant Jonathan Couturier said that for the second year in a row the MCJROTC program is a distinguished unit, a Naval Honor school.

"The Marine Corps JROTC program in the nation is the smallest," Couturier said. "So in essence, it is much harder to achieve this distinction."

The status allows more opportunities for students, including summer training and camps.

"This certainly validates the caliber of the program," Couturier said.
