Romeoville Liquor Store Sold Alcohol To A Minor: State Police

One business out of 24 failed the Illinois State Police compliance check.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Illinois State Police investigators conducted Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) checks at 24 Romeoville businesses last week to see which would sell alcohol to minors. During the May 9 surveillance, state police surveyed 24 locations, and just one — Super Mercado Jerez at 647 Independence Boulevard — failed the compliance check.

Police said the business sold alcohol to a person under age 21.

"The Illinois State Police commends establishments which do not sell alcohol to minors," police said in a news release, adding, "This project was funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety."
