
ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Village of Romeoville is currently accepting applications for a full-time building maintenance technician and a part-time communications specialist.
The Building Maintenance Technician will work in the Public Works Building department. Applicant must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and must be able to obtain a CDL license in 120 days. This is a semi-skilled position involving the construction, repair and maintenance of physical plants and facilities. This position requires a minimum of five years’ work related experience. An employee in this class performs a variety of tasks requiring manual skills as well as experience in electrical systems and in heating and ventilations systems primarily, and also in carpentry and in plumbing. Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of commercial HVAC is necessary. Certifications in electrical and HVAC are a plus. Salary is DOQ with benefits. The Village of Romeoville is also seeking a part-time Communication Specialist for twenty-five hours a week.
There are numerous duties associated with this position such as a variety of writing and PR tasks. Related duties include programming, videotaping, designing, writing, editing and creating articles for newsletters and publications and strong social media skills. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Visual/Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or any other related field or equivalent work experience with a minimum of three years’ experience. Must have excellent skills with computers and knowledge and use of a variety of production equipment and software programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Studio, Apple Motion, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premium Pro, Microsoft Office and Photoshop. Hours for this position vary based on the Village‘s need. This applicant must be able to attend events in the evening and on weekends. The majority of the work will be done between 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Salary is DOQ. The benefits for this position are paid vacation, sick, personal, holiday and retirement.
