Romeoville Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Girl He Met Through Plainfield Church: Officials

A Romeoville man is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl he met through a Plainfield church, authorities said Friday.
Thomas Eskew, 45, of the 2000 block of Winchester Trail, is charged with two counts of criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 17, and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 18, according to the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The criminal complaint against Eskew alleges that he “held a position of trust, authority and supervision” over the girl.
State’s attorney’s office spokesman Chuck Pelkie said the charges stem from two alleged incidents, on Nov. 10 and Nov. 16.

Authorities said Eskew became acquainted with the girl through a Plainfield church.
Eskew appeared in Will County court, where his bond was set at $750,000, according to jail records.
