ROMEOVILLE, IL — A 25-year-old Romeoville man faces weapons charges after police determined that he was involved in an incident earlier this month when police were called out for reports of gunshots being fired, police said.

Ernan Omana was arrested last week in connection with a Jan. 14 incident in the 300 block of Hickory Avenue, where police were called after residents reported gunshots being fired. Police could not locate a suspect at the time, police said, but found shell casings in the area in the road. No property damage was reported, and no one was injured, police said.

Police said that local residents provided a description of the vehicle. Last week, Romeoville Police were in the same area as the earlier incident and noticed a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle, police said.
