Romeoville Police Get New DARE Car

The Romeoville Police Department has a new DARE car, courtesy of donor D’Arcy Motors of Joliet.

The car dealer donated a 2012 Dodge Challenger to the police department.

Mayor John Noak presented owner Terry D’Arcy with a plaque in recognition of his generous donation of the vehicle.

“The DARE program and its officers teach valuable lessons to our youth,“ Noak said. “We appreciate D’Arcy Motors’ contribution to the Police Department’s efforts of the program.”

The new DARE car will replace a 1986 Chevy Camaro that is no longer in service.

“I know how important the DARE programs are to our community and I am proud to help the Romeoville Police program promote the program with a newer vehicle,” D’Arcy said.

DARE stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. The program is taught to 5th grade students attending Romeoville grade schools.
