Romeoville Police Save Suicidal Man from Jumping Off Overpass
Police were able to pull the man from the edge when he agreed to shake a sergeant's hand.

A man who was looking to end his life by jumping off the Weber Road overpass onto I-55 was saved by members of the Romeoville Police Department.
Police say that at around 2:05 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, a man was found threatening to take his own life.
Romeoville Sergeant Truhlar first responded to the scene and initiated a dialogue with the man, according to police. Truhlar was able to win the man’s trust and shake his hand. While shaking hands, Truhlar grabbed hold of the man and, with the help of Officer Clesceri and Officer Wyatt, pulled him over the fence and onto the street, police said.
