Romeoville Renews 5-Year Contract With Waste Management

The contract will extend through July 2031.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — At its July 15 meeting, the Romeoville Village Board approved a contract for refuse, recycling and yard waste collection with Waste Management, Inc.

Village Administrator Dawn Caldwell said the agreement is for 5 years, and Waste Management currently provides service to the Village.

"The contract will be from Aug. 1, 2026 to 2031," Caldwell said.

New changes to the contract include a $3 per month discount for all veterans, and the senior discount has also been increased to $3 per month.

Waste Management will also provide an annual $10,000 Community Supports donation (increased from $5,000), which helps with things like shred events.

Caldwell said the yard waste pick-up service will also be extended to the end of December.

"[Waste Management has] really been great partners, they've been responsive to any needs that we have," Caldwell said.

Monthly rates through 2031 will be:

  • Aug. 1, 2026-July 31, 2027, $29.50 per month
  • Aug. 1, 2027-July 31, 2028, $30.83 per month
  • Aug. 1, 2028-July 31, 2029, $32.21 per month
  • Aug. 1, 2029-July 31, 2030, $33.66 per month
  • Aug. 1, 2030-July 31, 2031, $35.17 per month
