Romeoville Students Raise Money for Humane Society
Irene King Elementary students did a "puppies vs. kittens" fundraiser.

The kittens won. But the real winner was the Romeoville Humane Society.
Irene King Elementary School’s Student Council-sponsored “Puppies vs. Kittens” fundraiser for the Humane Society netted more than $741, which Humane Society President Tish McGary says will be used “to buy some food which we really need.”
Students had the option of donating to the puppy fund or the kitten fund. The winning classroom (Laurie Bird’s 5thgraders) received a visit Tuesday from Humane Society volunteers, two dogs and several kittens.
