Romeoville Swears In Deputy Chief, Police Officers
Robert Fetzer was sworn in as deputy chief, and Zaki Abdallah, Jorge De La Rosa, Brian Kennedy and Ronald Ward were sworn in as officers.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A new deputy chief and several police officers were sworn in during the Romeoville Village Board's workshop meeting on Wednesday.
Robert Fetzer was sworn in as deputy chief, and Zaki Abdallah, Jorge De La Rosa, Brian Kennedy and Ronald Ward were sworn in as police officers.
Chief Ken Kroll said Fetzer has been with the department since 1991, and has served in several roles, including a field training officer, patrol sergeant, training sergeant and training commander.

Fetzer is also a recent graduate of the FBI National Academy, Kroll said.
Several police officers also took their oath of office on Wednesday.

Jorge De La Rosa grew up in Bolingbrook and is a graduate of Bolingbrook High School, Joliet Junior College and Lewis University, Kroll said. De La Rosa has a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
Brian Kennedy grew up in Orland Park and Plainfield, and is a graduate of Plainfield Central High School. He started as a dispatcher with the City of Elgin and worked in the Cook County Sheriff's corrections facility, Kroll said.
"I want to say thank you to the Village for hiring me and giving me a chance to continue my law enforcement career," Kennedy said.
Zaki Abdallah grew up in Lockport, and is a graduate of Lockport Township High School. This is Abdallah's first opportunity in law enforcement, Kroll said.
Ronald Ward grew up in Countryside, and previously worked for Justice Police Department, Kroll said. He has an Associate's degree in criminal justice from the College of DuPage.
