Romeoville Switching to New Emergency Notification System
Users of the current system were sent alerts notifying them of this change and encouraging them to make the switch to Smart911.

Starting July 1, 2026, the Village of Romeoville will be switching to Smart911 for their emergency alert notifications. When the calendar flips, the current system will go dormant. Users of the current system were sent alerts notifying them of this change and encouraging them to make the switch.
Smart911 is being utilized by Will County and many of the municipalities within it. Smart911 has the option for users to fill out additional information like emergency contacts, preferred providers, and pets that will be sent to first responders if the registered phone number calls 911. This will save time when responders arrive. This information is not required to use Smart911.
“We place a high priority on keeping our residents informed,” said Mayor Noak. “Smart911 allows us to do that and we encourage everyone to sign up for the service.”
