Romeoville Winter Storm: Early Waste Management Start, Warming Center
Also: the village has a snow parking ordinance when there is 2 inches of snow.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — Waste Management will move up their garbage pick-up on Thursday and Friday due to an incoming winter storm.
Romeoville residents should set their garbage and recycling out early, as pick-up will start at 5 a.m.
According to the Village, bins should be placed on the driveway or parkway if possible, to help plows better clear the streets.

The Village also has a snow parking ordinance, which goes into effect when there is 2 inches of snow. Residents should park along the odd-numbered side of the street on odd-numbered days, and on the even-numbered side of the street on even-numbered days. The fine for snow-related parking violations is $50.
Romeoville is under a winter storm watch starting at 6 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Saturday. Falling and blowing snow could cause "white-out conditions" with zero visibility at times, the weather service said.

In addition to the snow, wind gusts up to 55 mph are possible, as well as dangerous cold temperatures as low as 25 to 30 below zero are likely on Thursday night and Friday, according to the weather service.
Frostbite could occur in as few as 10 to 20 minutes, the weather service said. The cold temperatures will continue through the holiday weekend as well.
Romeoville has several warming centers for those who may be in need. The Romeoville Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road, is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The center will be closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25; and it will close at 6 p.m. on Dec. 23, according to the Village.
If the Recreation Center is unavailable, you can go to Fire Station No. 3, 698 N. Birch Lane. If nobody answers the door, pick up the ringdown phone. If nobody answers the phone, call the Romeoville Police Department at 815-886-7219.
