State Police Cars Hit During I-355 Accident Investigation

Crash occurred before 6 a.m. north of the I-55 exit Wednesday.

State troopers were investigating a two-car crash on southbound I-355 near Boughton Road in Bolingbrook at around 5:50 a.m. Wednesday when two squad cars were struck by another vehicle, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Neither the troopers nor the driver of the other vehicle were hurt, although the squad cars had to be towed, according to the report.

One of the drivers involved in the two-car crash suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, according to the Tribune.

The incidents occurred just north of the I-55 exit. Traffic was delayed as the four-lane tollway was reduced to one lane while police investigated.

All lanes were re-opened by 7:15 a.m., according to ABC 7.
