Three Valley View Bowlers Headed to State Finals

Romeoville High School’s Cody Surges and Bolingbrook High School’s Steve Stropkovic and Matt Strzechowski turned in outstanding performances in sectionals Saturday to advance to the Illinois High School Association’s state boys bowling finals in O’Fallon next weekend.

Surges finished third in the sectional with series off 666 and 667 for a total of 1333, including games of 216, 216, 234, 231, 200 and 236.

Stropkovic finished 5th with series of 693 and 610 for a total of 1303. His best game was a 235.

Strzechowski finished 7th with 1324 pins, including series of 674 and 650. He rolled a 279 game.
