Two Romeoville Residents Injured After House Fire

Heat from the fire melted the siding of the home next door.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Two Romeoville residents were injured after their house caught fire Thursday afternoon.

The Lockport Township Fire Protection District was called to the 1700 block of Ivy Hill Court at 1:09 p.m. Two residents were home at the time of the fire, but were able to escape on their own, according to a Lockport Township Fire Protection District news release.

One patient was taken to Bolingbrook Hospital with smoke exposure and the second was treated at the scene. The fire damaged the second floor of the home. Heat from the fire melted the siding of the home next door.

The Romeoville and Plainfield field Fire Departments provided assistance. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents.

The fire is under investigation.
