Valley View Board Honors Romeoville Cheer Team

Romeoville High School finished 19th in the state in the co-ed division.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Romeoville High School's cheerleading team was honored at Monday's Valley View Board of Education meeting for the team qualifying for the IHSA cheerleading state finals.

Students honored included: Arely Arreaga, Eleanor Brady, Ella Gage, Gizele Garcia, Faith Green, Lily Griffin, Ava Henson, Tarree Hosey, Sheridan Hudson, Isabella Juarez, Brett McIntosh, Ava Maglaya, Mia Maglaya, Tecole Martin, Jacob Mieleszko, Annalise Pitt, Ashley Roppolo, Natalia Sandoval, McKenzie Saxon and Paige Vaira.

"We had an awesome season," Head coach Krissy Kinder said during the meeting. The team placed first at two competitions this season, and were also conference champions.

The team's second-place sectional finish earned advancement to the IHSA state finals for the fourth time in five years, Kinder said.
