Valley View Names New Title I Administrator

Dr. Gregory Harris will support the development, implementation and monitoring of the district's $3.9 million dollar Title I program.

Dr. Gregory Harris, a veteran Romeoville High School teacher, has been named Title I Administrator for Valley View School District 365U.

As Title I Administrator, a newly-created position approved by the VVSD Board of Education at its May 22 meeting, Dr. Harris will support the development, implementation and monitoring of the district’s $3.9 million dollar Title I program which will serve students in every VVSD school in 2016-17.

A graduate of the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign with a Bachelor’s Degree in history, Dr. Harris holds a Master of Arts in school administration from Concordia University and a Doctor of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from Roosevelt University.

He has been teaching at Romeoville High School since August 2006, serving as a Professional Learning Community Leader in both the English and Social Studies Departments. He has also been a sponsor for various clubs and was a member of a variety of school and district-level committees. Prior to coming to RHS, he taught at The High School of St. Thomas More in Champaign.

Dr. Harris is the Past President of the Valley View Council of the American Federation of Teachers.

The position of Title I Administrator will be fully funded by federal Title I funds.
