Valley View Student Athletes Heading to State Track Meet

Nineteen Valley View School District 365U student-athletes and seven relay teams qualified for next weekend’s IESA Middle School state track championships with outstanding performances at the Jane Addams sectional Saturday.

Meanwhile, Humphrey Middle School won the 7th grade boys sectional title, Finishing second at sectionals were the Martinez 7th grade boys, the Brooks 8th grade girls and the Addams 8th grade boys.

Automatic berths in state competition went to the following first place finishers at sectionals.

7th grade boys:

Jaquan Howard, Humphrey—100 meter dash, long jump

Chris Ceballos, Humphrey—400 meter dash

Humphrey 4x100 relay (Howard, Ceballos, Christian Lopez, Jaden Elmore and Jason Ortega-Herrera)

7th grade girls

Haley Schaefer, Lukancic—high jump

Brooks 4x100 relay—(Marissa Barauskas, Jaila Allen, Jesse Tipe, Amari Turner and Morgan Mercier

8th grade boys

Kamari Rush, Martinez—100 meter dash

Justin Lynch, Martinez—200 meter dash

Joseph Balas, Addams—1600 meter run

Christian Stephens, Lukancic—110 meter hurdles

Marques Buford, Addams—long jump

Brooks 4x100 relay (Anthony Correa, Brendan Govan, Jake Lynch, Trevon Freeman and Devin Pringle)

Lukancic 4x400 relay (Osblado Paniagua, Hayden Podlasek, Julian Garcia, Leo Perez and Tyler Rehbock

8th grade girls

Amaris Baker, Brooks—100 and 200 meter dash, 110 meter hurdles

Jasmine Mann, Humphrey—discus

Brooks 4x100 relay (Kyra Williams, Danyel Middleton, Baker, Aliyah Woodyard and Ta Jae Jackson

Addams 4x200 relay (Kyla Matthews, Alanna Mischke, Takashe Fulce, Chloe Seay, Makayla Conway)
