Valley View Teachers Recognized By VFW In Essay Contest

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Brooks Middle School teachers Jeremy Mankins, Dawn Konieczny and Brian Finn were recognized by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5917 as Voice of Democracy Teachers of the Year earlier this month, according to a release from the District.

Mankins won first place, Finn earned second and Konieczny won third place in the middle educator category. All three teachers will now advance to the district level of the contest.

The teachers were nominated by Bolingbrook VFW Post 5917. Their names will also be forwarded for consideration for further honors at the district level, the District said.
